Sit still and be.
There in front of you is a moment to to do nothing at all
Just sit, watch, listen, smell
But do nothing at all
Just hear the birdcall
Of the robin, the rook, starling or blackbird
For the world is full of species doing there thing
Most of which have no consciousness that we can tell
And therefore cannot stop their doing
But we can.
Conscious that the 7+ billion of us are all about doing and accumulating
Perhaps if we all sat still for one single moment each day
The world would sound as if it were asleep
Stopped, silent, motionless, Stop spinning on its axis even
The Sun and other planets would gasp in wonder at the quietness of the GreenBlue marble
Doing nothing at all
The spinning wheel completely stopped. Not a sound to be heard, the other species maybe
Other galaxies too would spin to take a look
The great black holes of the cosmos might swallow themselves whole in shock at the GreenBlue marble that has suddenly stopped still
Newsflash of the sky, moon and stars, celestial lightning newsflash
Shock as the talking species on GreenBlue has stopped
Strange it would be, apocolypse of silence that breathed life to the GreenBlue
It would surely thank all for the moment seen in front of you
And return the favour too
Give you warmth, light, rain, at night even
Water in the morning
Forlorn looking to us to give it a break perhaps
Alas we dont cant want
To sit still but for a few
Ironically we chase and run and do
Till we tire and pay the one who sat still to show us how
To be, to be still and take in all around us
Now. Sit. Still.
